Flying splices wit tesa adhesive tapes

Splice adhesion

tesa’s adhesive tapes, whose physical properties are precisely calibrated, make applications such as particularly fast but also secure adhesion of a splice during flying splicing possible. During this process, the roll of paper that is running out is connected to a new one without reducing the production speed of 1500 to 2000 meters per minute. When affixing the beginnings and ends of rolls as well, or when taping up holes caused on paper webs in error, tesa® tapes and punched parts also ensure a smooth, continuous production process and the highest level of quality, efficiency, and economic feasibility.

Affixing printing plates

Another core application for tesa® adhesive tapes is affixing printing plates on printing cylinders or backing sleeves for flexo printing. To ensure optimum print output, tesa offers a full assortment of printing plate adhesive tapes that is precisely adjusted for the various printing methods. For example, tesa offers tapes with soft foam backings for raster printing and firmer foam backings for full-color and combination printing. The variations in foam thicknesses, adhesive force of acrylate and rubber adhesive masses, fabric and film backings, and dimensions of the tesa® printing plate adhesive tape assortment allow for customized use in all of today’s flexo printing techniques.
