Fachpack 2006: tesa® security concept
Flexible protection against theft
Dissatisfied clients, expensive replacement shipments, and additional processing costs are things of the past. The security concept from tesa helps to prevent theft of goods on the logistics chain. The concept includes the tried-and-true tesa® 64007 package security tape, the popular tesa® 64010 security labels, and two new tesa solutions: the tesa® 64012 security seal and the tesa® 64006 PV3 pallet securing tape. All four make unauthorized opening visible and assure shippers, transporters, and recipients of high-value goods that their deliveries will arrive with their original seals intact.

Fachpack 2006
While the tesa® 64007 package security tape and tesa® 64010 security label ensure reliable, manipulation-proof sealing of cardboard boxes, the tesa® 64012 security seal and tesa® 64006 PV3 pallet securing tape protect rolling containers and pallets from unauthorized access. If the tape or label is removed, or if the security seal is damaged, the text “opened” appears in color. If an attempt is made to affix it again or seal it, this text remains clearly visible. It is therefore immediately visible, at each stage of transportation, whether any attempt to open the shipment has been made.
This concept was tailored to the needs of specific areas of application.
The new tesa® 64012 security seal is used to indicate unauthorized opening of rolling containers. It is wound around the side brace and door brace of the wire mesh cart and fixed in place. A special Easy Rider roller enables fast, easy application of the seal.
The new tesa® 64006 PV3 pallet securing tape was specially developed to be wound around film-packed pallets. In this way, boxes bundled together in one goods shipment remain securely on one pallet until they reach their destination.
The tesa® 64007 security tape is suitable both for closing boxes manually and for mechanical processing of larger packaging units.
The tesa® 64010 security label, on the other hand, is particularly suitable for application to smaller items of packaging, down to very small ones, and to pieces being prepared for shipment that have various closing mechanisms. For that reason, tesa® 64010 is easy to handle manually and affix, with great precision, to small packages.
The tesa® security concept additionally offers individual security as well: The label, security seal, and packaging tape can all be printed with the company’s own logo or with bar codes or other client-specific information. In this way, the boxes are not only secured against unauthorized opening, but are also designated as still being in their original packaging.
The flexible tesa® security concept is supported through training sessions giving on its implementation and is already successfully in use in a number of industries. Clients such as DaimlerChrysler, Leica Microsystems, the shipping company Otto, Tengelmann, Tchibo, and T-Mobile use our security systems for external shipping and internal logistics, for example to secure goods being sent to branch locations.
