tesa® Tear Tape range

To open cardboard containers precisely and fast at the designated point without damaging the remainder of the package or even the contents: tear tapes facilitate opening of carton packaging considerably. At the same time they ensure secure and strong packaging because contrary to perforations tear tapes reinforce the inherent stability of the carton.

tesa offers a complete range of self-adhesive tear tapes to the corrugated industry. It comprises three different adhesive tapes that have been developed for the packaging industry in particular. All tear tapes can be integrated into the production process without problems and can be processed even at high machine speeds.

Absolutely new in the assortment is tesa® 53497. The particularly robust tear tape allows for problem free straight tearing even of thicker paper board containers. A strong rubber adhesive mass provides secure adhesion to all common corrugated and solid boards. At the same time tesa® 53497 can be unwound particularly quietly. This reduces stress caused by noises during processing. The heavy duty tear tape has been developed especially for opening of containers made of corrugated and heavy solid boards as well as of courier bags.

tesa® 51235 features outstanding tearing performance at comparably low thickness. The durable PP backing film coated with hot melt adhesive is therefore particularly suited to open cardboard containers made of medium to heavy weight solid boards as well as of double wall corrugated cardboard. Due to its very high elasticity tesafilm 51235 even withstands angular tearing.

tesa® 4235 can be used particularly well for tearing of medium weight solid boards and double wall corrugated cardboard grades. The PP film coated with a rubber adhesive features very good tack and has been fine tuned for automatic application at high unwind speeds.
