Dissatisfied customers, expensive replacements and additional handling costs can now be considerably reduced. The security concept by tesa helps to prevent product theft within the logistic chain. The practice proven carton sealing tape tesa® 64007 Tamper Evident as well as tesa® 64010 Security Label successfully launched last year are part of the concept. Both products make unauthorised opening of packages visible and provide security to shippers, forwarders and consignees of high value goods that their shipments arrive intact and originally sealed.

Both packaging solutions seal packages securely, and the tamper evident system deters thieves effectively from manipulations: upon removal of the tape or label the coloured inscription “opened” is displayed. When trying to reseal the package the inscription remains clearly visible. This allows easy detection of unauthorised tampering at the blink of an eye at any stage of the logistic chain.

The concept has been adapted to meet specific application areas. While tesa® Tamper Evident tape can also be used for mechanical application on larger packages the Security Label 64010 is particularly suited for use on smaller and minute packages as well as on packages equipped with various closing mechanisms. tesa® 64010 is simple to apply by hand and adheres precisely on small packages.

Moreover, the concept also offers individual security: both the label as well as the carton sealing tape can be imprinted with a company logo or other customer specific information. In this way the cartons are not only protected against unauthorised opening but also guarantee original packaging.

The new security concept by tesa has already been proven in practice. Application solutions of the new concept are already successfully used by fashions manufacturer Seidensticker, mail order house Otto as well as by technology corporation DaimlerChrysler.
