Purchase Cost Estimating

We are looking for a highly motivated graduate to join the global purchasing department located at our headquarters in Hamburg. Working in a multinational environment, you will support tesa to create the best possible customer value for the entire product life cycle by developing and implementing cost estimating as one of tesa’s core purchasing tools.
Following a dedicated induction program covering all relevant functions, your main tasks within this project will be as follows:
- Identify cost estimating opportunities by analyzing and segmenting the global tesa purchasing business
- Develop cost estimating methods and a calculation model for these strategic segments
- Visit supplier production facilities, evaluate key process parameters and calculate purchase cost estimates
- Negotiate identified cost gaps with suppliers
- Implement the tool in selected business segments in serial production and new product development purchasing
- Interact with controlling, R&D and purchasing functions at company headquarters and plants worldwide
- Implement cost estimating in the Asian purchasing organization
The successful candidate is likely to hold a Master’s degree or Diploma in a technical, industrial or commercial discipline, preferably underpinned by a good understanding of purchasing and engineering in a relevant sector. Your academic track record will be complemented by international experience gained as part of foreign internships (at least six months in duration) or initial project work. Experience in international and cross-functional projects would be an advantage.
